Outreach
Outreach at Meadowbrook involves our members with the larger community in many ways, such as building houses with Habitat for Humanity; sponsoring a family in the Adopt-A-Family program, being Adopt-A-School partners with Meadowbrook Elementary, volunteering and donating supplies for Eastside Ministries, Union Gospel Mission, Safe Haven, Salvation Army, Presbyterian Night Shelter, Day Resource, Metropolitan Board of Missions, Alliance for Children, New Lives School, United Centers, and Parents and Children Together. Each year two missionaries receive sponsorship by the church.
MUMC also sponsors Boy Scout Troop 12, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Brownies and East Fort Worth 4-H Club. A Self Defense/Karate course is offered weekly on Sunday afternoons.
Members also glean fruits and vegetables at harvest time for donation to Eastside agencies, donate blood to Carter Blood Center each fifth Sunday, and take an annual mission trip to McCurdy School in New Mexico. The annual Fall Carnival on Halloween, Vacation Bible School, Summer Musicals, and Holiday Events for Children reach out in fun and meaningful way. Meadowbrook members are truly involved in enriching and serving the community.
