Building on Faith....
                    Building on the Dream

Tarrant County’s Habitat for Humanity program began informally in the late 1980’s when Brenda and Richard Wier led a Meadowbrook crew in refurbishing a home for the Torres family. Since 1990, when the agency officially incorporated, more than 385 homes have been built by volunteers and would-be homeowners who contribute 250 hours of sweat equity as part of buying their homes with no-interest mortgage loans.

Each fall, United Methodists and other denominations participate in a "Building on Faith" program. Last year, that build produced 11 homes including the Methodist House built by several partner churches plus three houses built by individual Methodist churches.

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr., the theme of this year’s build is "Building on the Dream." Join us as we help Veronica Angiano and her 11-year-old son, Andrew, realize their dream of a new home.
